With the higher incomes that FairTrade provides, families now maintain well-equipped schools with high academic standards in thecommunities of San Juan, San Pedro, and Palestina. Three hundred children of La Voz memberspresently attend school in the area. The cooperative recently presented each of the schoolswith 150 desks, purchased with Fair Trade revenue from the 2002-2003 harvest. ‘Every singlechild of the members of La Voz is in school.
